Everyone is on a journey, and each journey tells a story. It’s this foundational truth that has informed what I do, why I do it and how I can do it better.

As long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to do my part to tell those stories. As a fifth grader, I’d make weekly programs for University of Georgia football games. I worked on the newspaper and yearbook staffs for my high school, knowing that my basketball chops weren’t strong enough to get me anywhere remotely near the court. So the next best thing was transferring that passion to write up short summaries of my school’s basketball games to share with the local newspaper in Augusta, Ga.

Those early experiences were integral in charting the course of my journey. For more than 20 years, I’ve been fortunate enough to be involved in various ways of helping people tell their stories. It started as a reporter and editor at the Athens (Ga.) Banner-Herald, where I cut my teeth covering everything from high school football to the biggest professional golf tournaments in the world, winning an Associated Press Sports Editors Award for Enterprise Writing during my first year on the job. Then, I shifted to work in public relations at the University of Georgia, putting the spotlight on arts, education and research at one of the premier higher education institutions in the country (yes I’m biased, Go Dawgs!).

The lessons learned there prepared me for nearly a decade at Jackson Spalding, one of the most dynamic and vibrant public relations and marketing agencies in the Southeast. I managed accounts, coordinated teams, crafted plans, wrote compelling content and shared incredible stories for clients ranging from global brands to hyper-local businesses, including the Atlanta Braves, Mizuno Golf and several PGA TOUR events, as well as overseeing the growth of the agency’s utilities practice.

Through it all, it’s always been about finding a good story and sharing it with the right people.

I’d love to help you tell yours.
